Azure Event Hubs Overview

Azure Event Hubs is a big data streaming platform and event ingestion service, part of the Azure services. It’s a fully managed Platform-as-a-Service leaving little configuration or management on the part of the client’s side.

Event Hubs is your “front door” of your event ingestor. It provides a unified streaming platform with time retention buffer, decoupling event producers from event consumers.

The platform helps you stream and store events at a massive scale, up to terabytes.

The data you send to an event hub can then be transformed and stored using any real-time analytics provider or batching/storage adapters.

Event Hubs lets your teams harness Big Data for numerous scenarios like Anomaly detection (fraud/outliers), Application logging, Analytics pipelines, such as clickstreams, User telemetry processing, or Device telemetry streaming.
